Cut their heads off

“Your Lord inspired the angels: “I am with you, so support those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. So strike above the necks, and strike off every fingertip of theirs.” Surah 8:12

​ And with that tidbit of information the writer of this ayah removed all doubt as to whether Islam is a peaceful religion. Obviously it’s not! It should be noted there are moderate/liberal followers of the religion of Islam. They reject the instructions to kill or mutilate those who dare to reject their religion or who cast aspersions regarding the faith. But there are also far too many fundamentalist adherents of the Islamic faith who believe every jot and tittle written in the Qur’an. They strive to follow the instructions to the letter. Not every fundamentalist will pick up a knife and behead a non-believer, but all too often, neither will they condemn those who do.

​ One will note this punishment is not instructed to be administered for killing a Muslim, raping a Muslim woman, stealing a Muslim’s camel, or any other unlawful act. This instruction is to be meted out purely because an individual rejects the Islamic faith. Any religion which cannot convert non-believers or keep their adherents within the fold without threats and barbaric acts might just want to give the value of their faith a little thought .
